Sara and Scott Tie the Knot

I know, I know, I really should stop the rhyming thing... but these are weddings... I believe cheesiness is mandatory.

So my dear Sara got married last Saturday. The wedding was fantastic. There are lots of pictures. (The thing about digital cameras is that people... ahem, Meg... have no reservations about picking up a stray camera and taking some snaps. This resulted in some real gems from the end of the evening which are hilarious, though admittedly probably only to a small contingent of us.)

Sag rolled into DC on Tuesday and wins an award for being the most mellow bride ever. Meg came in later in the week and it was a blast to be together again with these chicas. The whole wedding thing always leads to reflection on how the couple came to be and, by association, the various friendships present in their lives. So the week was really a trip down memory lane... reminding me how special these friendships are and how so much of who I am is based on having grown up with Sara and Meg as friends. Okay, enough with the sentimental stuff...

The wedding itself was at a hotel in Dupont Circle, site of Sara and Scott's first meeting. Adding a bit of comedy to the day was the fact that the annual DC Gay Pride parade was also taking place in the area. Fortunately, there wasn't much competition between the two... well, except that the self-professed "Dykes on Bikes" rolled past the hotel right around the time Sara and Scott were exchanging vows. Pretty funny. The reception was a tons of fun, with much dancing and drinking until the wee hours.

Sag and Scott are now sunning themselves in Costa Rica and I'm here in Boulder hanging out with Millie and Aspen (the cats), who are a laugh a minute. More on Boulder soon...
